Selamun aleyküm ova nasılsın iymin. Never have I written a film review before, but I could not resist to write one about this must seen film. Deeply touched by the script and acting, I distinctly felt the urge to encourage others to watch this masterpiece of Mehmet Ada Öztekin.
All tough films that make people cry are usually not my cup of tea, this drama was really to my liking. It is simply impossible for anyone to not cry during this film.
Early on in the plot you will soon emphasize with the main character Memo, brilliantly acted by Aras Bulut Iynemli, because he is an extremely friendly and nice person. You will be touched, because he is not done right by as a result of his mental illness. His relationship with his adorable daughter Ova, acted by the young Nika Sofiya Aksongur, makes you jealous even tough you believe you have the world's best relationship with your spouse. His friendly childish way of interacting due to his mental health disorder distinguishes Memo from any other father.
Owing to a cruel twist of fate Memo is wrongly accused of murdering a little child. The father of this child, a high placed military officer, is eager to punish Memo for his crime. Memo is challenged in prison and has to bond with other inmates which is supposedly impossible due to his social disadvantages. Against all odds interesting friendships are made and the inmates in Memo's cell go all the way for him.
